WAVES was created in the fall of 2012 with the merger of the former offices of Sexual Assault Services with Alcohol, Drug, and Health Education. This has greatly enhanced opportunities for collaboration among staff and increased opportunities for engaging students. WAVES now provides outreach and education to a broader segment of Mason’s student body and staff with more comprehensive prevention and support services.
Mason students will feel empowered and have the capacity to grow to their full potential and reach optimal wellness and well-being.
WAVES promotes wellness within the Mason community through health education, alcohol/drug assessment and education, and violence awareness, prevention and response. We help students make healthy, safe choices and encourage lifelong, thoughtful healthy decision-making through individualized support, creative programming, and evidence-based education and outreach.
